Hi "World",

Setting up some World Exchange SIP, very difficult to get the "correct" registration information from our friends at WX.

Got to a point where the system achieves registration with pan.wxzn.net. The number is fully provisioned so I should be able to make outgoing/incoming calls.

Can someone help me?? I need the format WEX required for the SIP header and format that’s required for the Calling and Called party for outbound calls?

Additional, the format of the domain information in SIP Header for outbound calls (Specifically what WX are you expecting the FROM: domain on the out bound call to read as? )

I am using G.729 exclusively and configuring for UDP for voice.

Seems only asterisk information is all WX supports.

Cheers

That's correct, the reason that is because of so many different implementations of SIP across all these different devices, every one seems to have a different set of requirements and we can,t expect all our staff to know them all, that's why we give you the details so it's up to you to configure your device as you will have the documentation ..not us !!!.

The info you are given is like below and should be all the info you require, some clients may call things different names and we will have no way of knowing that, but this should be all the info you need

Proxy.... Pan.wxnz.net
User name... 9950xxxx example
Authid.....
Password.....

How this applies to your SIP client is up to you and the documentation for the client.

Also if your registered then you should be okay, the registration should be the same format as the invite, if the device is registered the incoming calls will be sent to that registered info so again you should be okay

Thanks for the reply,

Yes terminology of every system vendor is different = pain in arse.

We have a number of customers using the iPECS system, because of the out of the box SIP and PSTN connectivity together we?re trying to move customers into SIP with LCR because of cost benefits for certain calls.

Yep I do, but don't tend to give that out to freely sorry, tended to get abused a bit with a a lot of "help me"
requests.... I like to help out whoever I can but letting people directly email me got a bit out of hand with some pretty minor requests.

Taking a quick look at what you pm'd, your config by the looks of it had the proxy, auth and userid field in the wrong
Field and were mixed up, I sent some info back, try those,

If you can get a sip debug as well that will also assist you.

Also took a look at the network and don't see any register attempts at all for that number

Maverick,

Thanks for your help, the site is all up and working like a well oiled machine.

During the process, at some period the wrong details were registered in WXC via the system registration and we couldn?t get incoming calls, only outgoing. Once WXC reset the details at there end, and re-registered details in correct fields didn?t have an issue.

For all interested, LG-Ericsson iPECS works with WXC. 4xSIP out of the box (multi codec), you can push it out to 8xSIP using G.711 codec.

Details can be sent if interested.

Is your well oiled machine presenting the correct outbound caller ID for each user's DDI? I've been beating an IPECS with a stick for the last week or so trying to coax it into doing so without much joy... If you have any pointers they'd be greatly appreciated
