I have an iPhone plan but have to change to a Telecom blackberry plan for work purposes.
I went into a Vodafone shop and asked if my iPhone plan can be changed to my wifes phone number (since her phone needs replacing and to avoid termination fee) and was told this was not a problem.
I have now been advised that this cant be done because when the phone numbers were first issued, they were 'prepay' numbers, not 'on account' numbers.
Vodafone are refusing to waive the termination even though we will resign upto a contract for the iPhone. i will refuse to pay so will see where the stand off ends up.
I dont understand why their system differentiates between 'prepay' numbers and 'on account' numbers, especially since the number is meant to belong to the customer. Seems to be an easy way on their part to generate termination fees.
