Hi

I have stumbled upon this site and thought I would see if anyone can help

I am no "techno head" and am having trouble setting up my xnet e-mail account on my iPod.

I have managed to set it up under “another account” on the iPod but originally tried going through the “Microsoft Exchange”.

At the moment it will not send any messages I try to send but it seems to be receiving them.

When trying to send it says “the recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying” it says this to any address I try to send to

I have contacted xnet via phone and they could not help at all sayong they have no idea, so I then e-mailed to get a reply to use the standard POP3 and smtp settings.

Can anyone shed any light on my problem please?

Are you using the xnet connection through wi-fi for your ipod?

If so you should be using for outgoing, smtp.xnet.co.nz on port 25, ssl turned off, no authentication (ntlm?). That should work fine.

If you're not using the xnet connection then you have to use the sending server of the isp you're connecting through.

Thank you for your input, I have tried different settings and finally made it work myself.
Trial and error has paid off.
