When did Xnet change their policy on locking down Line 2 on their modems?
I have been with xnet/vfx since 07 and very early on I got xnet to unlock the second line through the provisioning rule so I could play around with 2Talk. About 12 months ago I had to get a new router (wag310) and line 2 was still unlocked then. However a couple of weeks ago I wanted to change some of the settings and found line 2 had been locked down. I have rung the help desk several times and have got the run around. Their basic answer seems to be that the second line cannot and never has been unlocked. However I know the second part not to be true as it was unlocked until recently. Their only other suggestion is that I reset the modem to factory defaults, set up line 2, then provision Vfx. Not very practical considering the amount of work that will take (mac address filtering etc etc) and I will want to trial the line 2 settings to see how they work.
Can anybody help??

Line 2 has never been locked and that info is incorrect if it has been relayed to you, we have always left the 2nd line unlocked why it has suddenly "locked itself" seems a bit strange and we would need to take a look...

Yea I tried to convince the help desk of this but got a bit frustrated. What information do you need to look at the modem
I have tried a factory reset and reloading the configuration I saved when I first set the modem up when I got it but that made no difference I have inclded a screen dump of the line 2 screen from the modem.

Hello Phin,

Going by the posted screenshot it will show that screen unless you click on "admin view" in the top right. What should happen is the settings should become viewable, if its locked you will get prompted for a password.

yes that is exactly what happens, In the past I have been able to see line 2 without a password though. The password for admin view has always been xnet's password

I've regenerated your config.

Unfortunately this means in order to pickup the correct line settings we'll need to factory default your device to force it to pickup our default config which has the line2 unlock settings in it.

OK, i can see you have downloaded the default config, firmware and a final config. Do you now have access to line 2 ?
