i am going to hospital tomorrow and i am trying to do research into free wifi maybe 4g i see hospital has coverage. i am taking my laptop
what options do i have at dunedin hospital to use wifi with?
im there for a week and would love at least to have 500mgs a day to use.
do i need to get a stick or is it just that i sign in is there a password i need or?
im sure someone must know info about how to log into wifi hotspots at dunedin hospital

You would be lucky to have public wifi in the wards. Best bet would be a 2Degrees data stick on the 12GB $99 prepay deal.

im pretty sure most hospitals have signs everywhere telling you to turn your mobile phone off so im going to guess that means no MBB stick for your laptop either.

AFAIK the reason for no mobile phones at the hospital, they don't want people to talk loud on mobiles and disturbing others. Sitting quietly and use the Internet is no problem at all. At tauranga hospital, EOL which is a local ISP provides paid Internet via wifi.

There is no such things as mobile phones can cause problem. Doctors carry their mobiles everywhere within the hospital.

why not ring the hospital and find out, using the phone to make calls is what we used to do back in the day

i would but the main reasons is hospitals are boring i have been in hospital for over a month already this year

so if you have not acturaly been in hospital you dont know how boring they are just being there

in the past i have asked one of the high doctors had a son who had cancer and tried to get donations and sort out a way for patients to have wifi. because hospitals are so boring. but for some reason nothing happened.

its why i am trying to find out best wifi plans extra.. hospitals are so very boring. i have already been in hospital for a month this year and i have two surgerys coming up so i will be in hospital for even longer...

so i am trying to find out my best option for tomorrow

as i have already said i have acturally been in hospital for a month already this year. they say that about cells but i used my phone around docs and they used their phones so its really kinda fake. some people get mad about phones in hospital but hospital is so boring they should try being in there for over a month without using phone or wifi it is so very boring!!!

last time there i had no trouble using my phone there. it depends what kind of room you are in group or not but even in groups they let you use phone

this was the reply i wanted. back in jan we had a telecom stick that had 3 gigs but was used in one day it was not that reliable

is 2degrees better as i am using it mainly for runescape i am hoping an hour a day at least.

on low details too.

FYI wellington hospital has pay as you go wifi. Was per half hour if I recall. 3g seemed more reasonable to me though.

i would be happy to pay for something like that here. that sounds really nice. i think i might go with 2degrees seems better pricing.

i was in dunedin hospital 3 months ago and back then they didnt have internet

i wish the isis clinic did as thats where i will be for after surgery. [forgot to say the 3gigs was about 40$]

Not much help to you now but where I work at Waikato Hospital there is free Public wifi in most areas of the campus
