Hi,

I am trying to connect to/through? a VPN over Ultimate Broadband RBI Wireless Internet, but am having trouble getting this to work.

Has anyone got any experience with this, or connecting on any other providers RBI connection? any help with settings that need to be changed/configured would be much appreciated.

Is that connecting out to a VPN from UBB connection, or is it a VPN server on the UBB connection you are trying to connect into?

Thanks for you reply.

I am trying to connect out to a VPN through the UBB connection.

I have purchased a subscription to HMA Pro VPN and have got it set up and working if I connect from a Fixed Line Connection, but can't get it to to work if I am connected to web via UBB.

Hi OP

This is often MTU related, we see it from time to time on RBI Wireless connections especially non standard VPN applications. Try that as a start point.

Suggest you contact support@ubb.nz but be prepared that there is little the team can do trouble shooting wise especially with the very basic B315 but they will certainly do their best to assist.

FYI PPtP, L2tP & IPSec works aok over my UBB RBI Conection.

How do I check/change MTU? So I will potentially have to upgrade from the B315 to get it to work, or is that a last resort?

You may find your VPN app allows that or you can change on your machine. A Google search should find that answer for your specific situation.

You don't need to change routers, it's the only approved router currently. The comment around basic is that it has very limited routing capabilities unfortunately.
