Hi,

I have a small home network using a D-link DSL-G604T as the router. I can connect fine with cat5 and using a Dlink DWL-G520 PCI wireless card.

Recently I picked up an old laptop and tried connecting to the network with a PCMCIA Dlink card and could not pick up the network. I went back to the shop and could pick up all their wireless networks with the card and laptop. Same story with the USB Dynalink USB.

I've updated all drivers inclusing firmware on the router. I've installed and reinstalled all service packs.

I've come to the conclusion that it must be a setting on the router. All the advanced setings to configure the USB device are very different to the options with the wireless PCI cards that works fine in my PC. Any ideas?????

Are you using Wireless Zero Configuration service or Dlink 3rd party wireless software? - what advanced settings are you talking about, should only be SSID, encryption type and key/passphrase.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I've taken the Dlink card back and exchanged for a dynalink USb just to see if I would get any luck with that, so I'm using the Wireless Zero COnfig. The advanced settings are for the USB device itself configured through the windows wireless networks -configure device.
