We will start allowing the public to use our services from Dec 2008, we would like to know what type of internet price do you think is accpetable and what location you are in Northland, knowing this information is helping speed up the process of the launch.

The replies you receive may be more beneficial if you provide a rough outline of speeds, data allowances, installation cost, etc.

NorthlandConnect: We will start allowing the public to use our services from Dec 2008

Sounds good Smile

When will you extend your coverage to the Bay of Islands, specifically the Russell area?

I had a look on your web site and noticed that you have a Hotspot in Paihia, so it's only a short hop across the water from there.

NorthlandConnect: , we would like to know what type of internet price do you think is accpetable and what location you are in Northland, knowing this information is helping speed up the process of the launch.

On your web site there are a selection of plans which are the subject of a poll.  I voted for this one, which seems to be one of the most popular choices:

$40.00 Month 5GB

That would be ideal for us Smile

One further very important question:

- We use WxC's VFX to provide our phone service as we don't have a landline.

- Will you offer QoS i.e. prioritisation of the VFX packets so we don't get voice breakup in the presence of heavy network activity?

I look forward to seeing further details as they become available closer to the launch date.

Hi There,

Yes we are setting up hotspots in paihia, they are only hotspots untill our launch.
We will have full coverage in russell and with our network having QOS, redundancy and Voice packets having first priority.
would you know of anyone else in russell that would be intrested? have a look at the website www.nconnect.co.nz/home

In relation to Grant's question, I see you have a link to WxC for voice; does this mean VoIP service will be via their VFX service?

What is your general coverage area to be? I have interest in the south of Whangarei areas, e.g Waipu, Maungaturoto etc.

$50-$60 per month, with 5GB, & VoIP would be a good price point.

Not at present, but I'll keep an ear out.  People in Russell township out to Orongo Bay can get ADSL and people in and around Jack's Bay can also get ADSL.  We are in between those two islands of connectivity.  However, given the poor quality of landlines around here, I am very glad not to be tied to a thin strand of corroding copper in the salt-water laden ground Cool

NorthlandConnect: have a look at the website www.nconnect.co.nz/home

Yeah, I found that earlier.  Will keep an eye on it every so often for news of the rollout.

Meanwhile I am organising an upgrade to my Kordia Extend connection which will bump the speeds up to 1Mbps.  It will be a lot better than the 256k that I'm on at present Laughing

Somebody has hacked the http://www.nconnect.co.nz/home url     "SAS" India or some such.   I'm normally not in favour of nuclear war, but I'd make an exception for those people.

Hi Guys,

Just want to report that there has been an issue with our website, it is hosted overseas for now. Untill our data center is finshihed and we have been allocated Public IP's from Kordia, we will be rebuilding the website tonight and it is now available at www.nconnect.co.nz
i feel that honesty is the best policy and there no point in hiding this issue, we had a hacker in our website, they had access using the hosting companys website builder.

Kind Regards,

Hi Matt,
I am in the Hokianga on the Kordia 256k Extend plan from the Mangataniwha transmitter . I would be interested in the $40 5gig plan and would see a big takeup from the underserved Hokianga area if available.
Thanks

Do you offer static IP Addresses?

Hi there,

Yes static IPs are available,
also if you have demands for bandwidth we do offer CIR, but this is on a case by case basis.
Its realli great to see  people intrested in our services, we are trying really hard to move things along and with the help of the public, we can get it there faster "investers point of view :P"

Ask not what you can your ISP do for you, but ask what you can do for your ISP
And thats becasue we support those who support us, thats our purpose in Norhtland

Wish everyone a wonderfull weekend,

Matthew Greaves
