Ok, so we are just in the process of setting up a very small office. Reception desk is where the router etc is at. All other pcs in office (just one now, but soon to be 4) connect wirelessly.

Is 2talk a good pbx solution for this? If so, what kind of hardware should I be buying? Keeping costs as low as possible.

Are certain broadband providers better than others?

how many lines and extensions are you wanting?

i would def recommend 2 talk, i use them for a few sites and a 3cx pbx on a debian based system and it work well

1 phone line and 3 extensions - but the extensions are next to pcs that arent hardwired to the network is this an issue or no it just works (for my imaginations purposes) like cordless phones?

Would you be happy with cordlesses?

If so, I recommend the Yealink W52P. Put a base next to your router (attached via wired ethernet) and buy another 2 handsets. They can all run off the one base. Coverage is pretty good (should cover a normal office situation easily).

Yealink W56P with 3 W56H units. Slightly nicer and newer than the W52P units :) Fully wireless, base station next to the router.

Obviously - the best broadband provider would be 2talk but I wouldn't call them amazing for internet. Going with someone like Voyager would be your best bet.

If you need help setting up extensions on 2talk, feel free to chuck me a message, I've done so many of those setups and the layout can be a bit confusing!

Yep! Or W60 for that matter :) But I'd still go for W52 myself. I prefer the smaller handset & better bang for buck.

I have both the Yealink T 26 and the Yealink W52P. The desk phone is superior to the cordless for an office environment. The desk phone has a decent speaker function and you can easily have a handsfree headset which is invaluable for long calls. I now use Yealink W52P for our house phones.

Agreed! :) But the T26P requires a wired ethernet connection, and the OP stated this wasn't available at the location the devices are to be used.
