I (wrongly) posted this in the previous wag310g thread, it needs it's own:

I have a WAG310G with line1 connected to Xnet, and am trying to get line2 to connect to a local asterisk/freepbx box.

In line2 the things I have changed are the proxy/outgoing proxy and mailbox i.p to the asterisk box, and all the subscriber information.

In freepbx (2.9) i have added a sip device to match these settings as closely as I can, yet the line2 light is not coming on on the router...

voip is a crazy new world!

cheers.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't possible with the WAG310. You're trying to make the SPA device connect on the LAN side of the router but I believe it can only connect to devices on the WAN side.

damn!

It makes sense, I was just hoping it wouldt be this way.

But.... could I use a (for example no-ip domain) to resolve the external i.p then nat it inside the network? i.e poke holes in the firewall at port 5060 or 5061/whatever?

What about lan-> phone? (if any of this would work)

ok so its crazy, but you gotta try 8)
