Some people did. I got a copy, but I already have MSDN anyway.

Yes I'm writing this from RTM now.

Its very very good. Expect a very biased review on my blog over the next couple of days.

I had a look at the Digg 'article' and have come to the conclusion that Digg readers are in the same category as SlashFUD readers... retards. 98% complaining because they were CPP members and didn't get a free copy of Windows. Need I say more?

Stupid people are everywhere. Always wanting something for nothing... A bit like all the trolls who demand highest quality broadband for nothing. Grrrr

I got a free copy from MSDN which was nice.

I'd probably run it as my main OS at home if:

a) my PC had the memory and video grunt to run it;
b) my work VPN software worked properly;

I'd probably run it as my main OS at work if:

a) updates worked in a domain where SUS is already running
b) I knew what the hell I was doing with IIS7

You did not get a free copy. Read the MSDN agreement: you have got 10 licence activations to be used for testing and development purposes, not for commercial or personal use.

The only exception to this rule on MSDN licence is for Office programs, where you have 10 activations licence for development and testing, plus one activation licence for commercial use.

I have a MSDN subscription but still have to pay for the Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server software running on this machine (Geekzone), since this is a production environment.

It really depends on you definition of "free". Sure, it's not "free" as in no strings, but it is "free" as in no cost to me.
