I have installed a new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-970-D3) and a new OCZ Agility 2 ssd. In trying to install Windows 7, I get to the point where setup asks which drive I want to select, but no drives are showing.
In BIOS, I can see the ssd.
I did succeed in formatting the drive but can not remember how!!
I would be very grateful for any suggestions on how I might be able to get Windows setup to see the ssd.

You need to download the SATA RAID or SATA AHCI driver (depending on how your bios is configured) and load it before windows setup can see the drive.

SSDs are *always* supposed to run as AHCI. Set the BIOS disk interface to AHCI and Windows 7 should see the drive with its default drivers.

Thanks for your help. I tried both suggestions but was not successful. However I found instructions at this URL http://tommynation.com/ssd-not-available-during-windows-7-setup/ and created a partition which was visible to Windows and am sending this message from my rejuvenated PC.

i had this problem switched it to AHCI in bios and it worked right away :)
