i know ive seen a few topics about this now but its for laptops and newer ones at that, but I just recently bought a Dell Dimension E520 Desktop, and it came with Windows Vista Basic installed, I was looking to simply buy XP home edition off of a retailer that still stocks new XP OS. If i have the driver disks that they gave me for my Video/Audio and the other integrated divices, will they still work with the downgraded OS or do i have to see if they have backward compatibility?
