Hello there, people of Geekzone. I appear to be having a problem with my IBM ThinkPad laptop. The problem first began when I tried to install a game onto this computer. What basically happened was that my started flickering on and off repeatedly, until it finally just gave me a black screen. When I picked the computer up, the screen came back on, but the computer had frozen. I manually shut down and restarted the computer, however all it gave me was a black screen. As far as I can tell, the computer actually crashes immediately on start up, as I do not hear the familiar sounds of the drive working, or the fan running faster or slower. After a little while, I found that I can get the computer to start up if I apply a little pressure to the computer right below the keyboard. This allows me to start up, but the computer will inevitably "flicker to death" and then crash. During the time in which it actually works, I managed to clean the registry and update a few drivers, (Though most are unavailable.) but these have caused no changes. I think that the problem might be with the hardware, rather than the software, but I cannot be sure. Rather than just rushing off to a tech support store and spend a lot of money getting it fixed, I'm going to first ask you guys, just in case you may have a solution. I can't really fetch the system specs right now, but I know it's an IBM ThinkPad with 1 GB of RAM, and an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics card. (Whose driver cannot be found anywhere. -_-')
Best,
Shadow
