I liked the old windows movie maker in vista even though it used to piss me off every time it crashed
and the problem with any new windows movie maker they made, you couldn't open your old projects, I got so tired of vista playing up, i backed all my wmm files and media, up into an external and installed windows 7, only to find no windows movie maker, i download windows movie maker2.6, but it wouldn’t load my projects, so i downloaded windows movie maker live, found that to be making any good editing tools, it’s a no frills model,
but install it as you will need it later on for making the movie.
so here is the work around for it, i have only tried this on 64bit
copy the windows movie maker folder from vista 64bit
paste it to windows 7 64bit programefiles
create a shortcut off the MOVIEMK file to desktop
and your away laughing, but when you go to load your media a small x will come up on your photo's/video's
just click on the x you will be asked to locate your media, if you havnt moved them around to much and put them back in similar place where u created the project e.g...like desktop/family PICS then it should be easy.
i edited all night long and it went fine no problems at all,
untill i went to publish it, it woldnt work,
this is how i worked around that
when your happy with your project, save it
close MOVIEMK (windows movie maker)
and start up windows movie maker live
open your project through there and publish to DVD,
one of the first things it will do is make a copy to your videos folder
please excuse my spelling, its been a sleepless few days
Kind Regards,
