My office has recently purchased a laptop running 32-bit Win7.

We use a Canon imageRUNNER 2020 printer/copier. The printer is setup with a static IP on our router and all of the WinXP machines have been printing to it successfully for years.

The Win7 laptop can locate the network printer and install it however when we print to it the following occurs:

The print job enters the queue.

The job leaves the queue after a few moments.

The printer wakes up from sleep mode.

Internal motor kicks in.

Nothing prints.

The printer has no error messages and the computer shows an empty print queue.

It seems like the Win7 OS is satisfied the print job has been sent and the printer seems to receive "something" since it wakes up from sleep mode but nothing beyond that.

The WinXP computers are still working with the printer like normal.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

PCL 5e and PCL 6 drivers tried

32-bit OS

Tried installing the printer as a Local Printer with TCP/IP Port, USB Printer via cable and Network Printer. All produce the same result.

Thanks again.

Could be a couple of things:

1) Check the TCP printing ports - compare with the working XP - check for RAW Port ( usually 9100 ), or check the LPR port - if you are using LPR, ensure that you are using the same LPR remote queue.

2) could be firmware in the Canon - quite a few MFD's required updates to work with the newer Win 7 driver architecture.
