Hello all can someone help. My sister finally posted me my Asus emachine netbook as she is finished her thesis. But she changed my password and she can not remember the new password.
I am locked out of my laptop on start up.
I have just spent all evening looking at youtube to find a solution and am giving up on how to fix this problem by taking it to a computer tech.
Can someone please direct me to a good computer tech that can help me, but will not pull my pants down over the price. Wellington based. Thanks.

So let me get this straight!

Your sister borrowed and completed a thesis using your PC but she can't remember the password to the machine she set?

Are you kidding?

i did just this today for a friend. i have shut down my pc but ill post the link to the site / utill i used tomorrow. someone may beat me to it but it is a very simple util that you boot of usb or cd and it can set it or just remove it completely so long as you are not using encrpted files. All so im assuming it is windows of some flavor e.g 7, vista, xp etc

Unless maybe it's the BIOS password?

Run the factory restore option.
This will wipe the drive and reinstall windows giving you access again.

Because of concerns I will lock this discussion.

Best solution is to contact a local PC store for support.
