With the new release of Ubuntu 8.10 I decided to reinstall Ubuntu rather than upgrading from my 8.04 Hardy Herion. Now I can boot to Ubuntu, but Windows XP from grub menu gives following error:
Error 12: Invalid device requested
Press any key to continue...
I can see and access Windows XP partition from Ubuntu, but can't boot into it. Ubuntu and XP is installed on the same physical drive on different partitions. Is there anyway to save my Windows with reinstalling it? I would like to move to Ubuntu eventually but still prefer to keep Windows for games etc. Any help is much appreciated.
