Trying to fix a MacBook Pro 13" unibody mido 2010.
The light on the magsafe Poweradapter does not light up when I plug it in.
Have tried different power adapters same issue.
Mac dealer didn't think it was battery as should power from adapter without battery.
So I pulled machine apart. I checked voltage at the power adapter 15v at all pins.
I checked voltage from dc in board connected to power adapter again 15v at all pins.
I scratched my head and thought. It's gotta be the logic board right?
Just don't want to buy a new logic board for $400 nly to find out its still not working and that it actually was the battery, DC in board, power adapter or something else?

If AC adapter LED does not come on, and you know the adapter is good; IMO it must be either the MagSafe board or the logic board. Nothing else should prevent logic board getting power.
MagSafe board will be a much cheaper part to try first, if that doesn't fix it then surely is logic board.

Possible something like top case or power button fault could prevent it from powering on, but still the AC adapter LED should come on.

Have you closely inspected MagSafe port? I have seen machines where a single staple is perfectly stuck to the magnet, inside the port, and prevents the pins from reaching the contacts.

Thanks for your replies. Yes I have closely inspected the magsafe board. I removed it from the machine and connected it directly to power supply and was able to read 15v off all pins that connect from magsafe board to the logic board. As long as 15v at all pins is the correct voltage then I am assuming it must be the logic board. Just be good to know for sure before forking over for it :-)
