How fast is the iPad 2? I was thinking of buying one because I heard that Microsoft Office app is now available for iPad and I saw a promotion for an iPad 2.
Mod Edit (M.M.) - Edited title as there is already a MS Office iPad thread.

jonb: iPad2 is fast enough for us (casual gaming, illustration mainly), and would be good for Office as well. However, Office on iPad will only work for those who have an Office 365 subscription.
If you are specifically wanting Office on a tablet, you will be best off getting a Windows 8 tablet; Surface Pro1, now being sold for $750, Asus VivoTab for $350, or the faster Asus T100 for $600 .

aboylikedave: I have an iPad 2 bought about 18 months ago, when the iPad 3 was already out. I know later models have a lot more oomph and I have never used one for comparison.
However, I can say that for daily use I have never found it slow for any task.
Mind you, current prices don't seem that cheap - it cost me $579 then and they are similar now.
iPad's are such cool things which you may come to love, if it was me I'd pay the extra to get retina and/or better processor.
I am wondering, is an ipad 4 a better buy than an ipad air at the moment?
