Alright, so I installed snow leopard as an update and everything ran unbearably slow and crashed frequently. So I did a clean install and now it is unbelievably fast, but in the 24 hours I've used it I have had a kernel panic error twice when launching an application from spotlight. Any fix for this and does anybody else have this?

Have you updated to 10.6.1?

Hi,
Check through the list of incompatible software and uninstall them.
Onyx for instance will crash the whole system

No Safari add ons work in 64 bit ~ you can 'get info' on Safari in Finder and change it to load in 32 bit.

Use Disc Utility to repair permissions etc.. Note: 3rd party Leopard System utilities will not work and some will crash your system.
Check in Console for error messages which may alert you to what is causing the problem.
6.1 makes a few changes but I wouldn't update until you get rid of the software that is causing the panics.
Best.

I get these regularly but only when using Safari and the 'Top Sites' view.

Maybe once a week.

I have only one problem with SnowKitty and that is with the Telecom software installed via their XT TStick which reloads every time I start it and has to be force quit after 10.6.1  No updates available yet...

Otherwise SL runs fast and clean. I've had one kernel panic in 5 years and that was software related.

Incompatibility List: It changes regularly.

Since I last posted I had more kernal panics and I fixed it by making snow leopard boot into 64-bit. Haven't had one for at least 3 weeks
