Hi, I have a friend going to the states soon, and since I'm keen on getting a mac mini (mainly for home theatre and to upgrade my old g4 laptop) I wish to know if there are any issues with its inbuilt power supply and external plug? i.e. would the power NZ 240v vs us 110v be an issue? and does it come with an adapter plug for NZ as some mac products do? (e.g. airport express). I am hoping there wony be any issues and it could run happily here and it may save me few dollars.

A simple look up from Apple's website will give you enough information. http://www.apple.com/macmini/specs.html

Electrical and operating requirements

Line voltage: 100-240V AC
Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz, single phase
Maximum continuous power: 85W
Operating temperature: 50? to 95? F (10? to 35? C)
Storage temperature: -40? to 116? F (-40? to 47? C)
Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
Maximum altitude: 10,000 feet
Typical acoustical performance
Sound pressure level (operator position): 14 dBA at idle7

Thanks, and gee that was quick! I hadn't realised they put that up! duh!. I assume the external plug then is a non issue as I could probably get an adapter plug fitting if it doesn't come with one.

Yep :) any old mini jug style cord, PS3 slim cord or laptop two pin cord will work :)

You can even get white ones pretty cheaply, PS2 white one here :) perfect match $3.65
(edited, on second thought, skip that one, it hsa no insulation on the pins and is therefore illegal to be sold in NZ) but similar ones can be found with insulation :)

I concur that current Mac minis should be fine, but it has not always been so simple.

Apple have previously sold machines in the USA with 110V ONLY power supplies, while the ones sold world-wide (same model mac) are shipped with 110V/230V auto switching power supplies.
I've had customers bring machines from the US to NZ where they promptly POP when plugged in.
