I have an old canon AE-1 slr which needs a new battery.
Does anyone know where I can get hold of an L544 6V Lithium battery in NZ?

I'm pretty sure that most camera batteries can be found at supermarkets (for the very common) and pharmacies and camera shops (duh!)
Just to help you in your search, here are a list of equivalent batteries to the L544:
Kodak K28L
Duracell PX28L
Varta V28VXL
IEC: 2CR 11108
ANSI: 1406 LC

I don't think that it's the correct one.
Look at the
Kodak batteries table
.
EDIT: Well, they should be the same, but it's alkaline. Most people prefer lithium

Alkaline will not last as long as the Silver oxide or lithium batteries.
Otherwise they are all the same.

Quick note;
Some devices are picky and (for some reason unknown to me) will not work if its expecting a Silver Oxide battery and you use a lithium/alkaline.
Im not sure exactly why, but working at DSE for 2~ years I came across this problem maybe 4 or 5 times.
