They are pretty awesome Laughing

I know David Belle pretty well actually, we went to school together. Parkour started in my hometown in France (Lisses), it's great they're getting so much recognition because they've worked really hard for it.

I couldn't bring myself to do it though, not fit enough Tongue out

Jen

Edit: If you've seen Casino Royale, the black guy bing chased by James Bond through that construction site (one of the beginning scenes) is one of the Parkour founders as well, Sebastien Foucan.

Parkour is the nutts.
There's a youtube video of a parkour battle in an empty mall.
Don't have the link but it should be easy to find.

it was filmed in cooperation with the mall and is filmed using the mall's security cameras.

David Belle does some very cool parkour in "District 13" which otherwise is a pretty awful movie :)  The video where he runs up the side of some huge statue/artwork thing and then does a one-armed handstand on the top is nuts, the man has no fear!

I used to do it a little bit a few years back (nothing too gymnastic), good fun, got shut down by an appendectomy (which the strong ab muscles helped with as things stayed put, hence a very tidy job), got slack and now I'm too unfit :(

Plus the school I live near these days doesn't have anything good to run around on.

The BBC had a "station ident" using David Belle (I think) running across roof tops of London for a couple of months circa 2003 I think. Quite a stunning piece ofwork - no real relavence to the BBC but all good

I havea friend who does it, he's in a pro team in the US I believe these days. He performed at the world stunt awards a year or two back.
