Hi,

Now that my Dad can finally use email, the next thing is to get him a microphone and hooked up to Skype. Can any Aucklanders tell me where the best place is to buy a cheap Microphone for your P.C.  Im in the UK and I picked up a real kewl one that works fantastically for £2.00 about 4 bucks Am I better off posting him one of those ??

Thanks for your help

I would say don't skimp on the quality of mics as the lower quality ones will cause a lot of background noise.

Best to spend a decent amount on a mic - middle range would be recommended.

I got one from "1 2 3 dollar store" years and years ago, cost me $3.90 ( -_____- ) and I havn't had a problem since. I doubt they still make them but microphones from Dicksmith are fairly cheap now. Same with webcams with mic's built in. www.dse.co.nz <-- browse that site and he should know where one of those stores are, if you just tell him to print of a certain page and take it to the shop I hope for humanity that an attendant will be happy to find it for him. lol

You can probably get a cheap clip on mic for around $10 from DSE or Jaycar.
