I have mobile broadband with Telecom- as landline broadband isn't available in my street at the moment ...thanx to Telecom's..well Chorus's dum network -
I am currently use 4 x 4GB+4GB sim cards...and this is wayyy tooo expensive!!! And Telecom cannot offer me any other alternative (such as satellite broadband or landline broadband)

I live in the rural area of Whakamaru (near Mangakino and between Taupo and Tokoroa)I am looking for something that will give me 30-40GBs a month. At the moment i am running 4 x 4GB+4GB telecom sims that are gettin way to expensive to have...so i am looking at cancelling one of them in the next month..but i am currently online alot as i do alot of work and/or gaming
Are you able to suggest any options I may not yet know about? Even Vodafone has suggested i contact geekzone

You would need to go for the satelite by the sounds as there is no fixed line option in your location

You're part of the wireless RBI coverage area so will ultimately be covered by that.

I don't know if this is of any help:

RBI Wireless 20GB
$129.00 per month
20GB data cap
Open or 24 month contract term
$5.25 per GB overage

30GB would set you back $181.50 or 40GB another $52.50 on top of that.

I have already advised them about RBI on the Vodafone NZ forum

move back to an urban area?

You need to accept that there are some things that are benefits of living in rural areas (clean air, less crime, significantly lower prices for real estate etc) and some things that are benefits of living in urban areas (better infrastructure like roads and internet, better access to other amenities like schools, libraries, swimming pools, theatre, cinema etc)

I can understand that you want the benefits of both, but unfortunately life doesn't work that way.
I live in the city so get better internet access, but on the flip side I have to pay well over twice the price for my property compared to what I would pay if I was rural.

Think of it this way - you are saving hundreds of thousands of dollars from not paying $1m for a measly 500sqm section and house because you live rurally (for example), so use some of that money to pay the higher rates for your mobile broadband.
