Hi guys

I've just sign up with Snap VDSL and I've trouble looking for a modem.

Currently I am running Linksys WGN120n as a modem/router (WIFI).

I am thinking if it is possible to run WGN120n as solid router and get a Zyxel VDSL model to bridge them together.

So I can have WIFI coverage and also router function without buying a new router.

Just buy a Zyxel or Draytek if you're after modem to function solely as a bridge.

Just remember to set the VLAN tag to 10.

Yea, I am just afraid that WGN120n wont be able to bridge with the modem

If your WGN120n supports setting up PPPoE through a non-DSL port then it supports bridging.

Hey guys

I am having trouble bridging the Linksy WGN120N with Zyxel

So I set layer 2 to VlanMuxMode and changed the connection type to Bridge mode as shown in picture.

After that I went into Linksy WGN120N to set the connection type to Bridge mode only

Here comes the question:

Do I use LLC or VC?

Which QoS do I pick?

And the Virtual circuit VPI and VCI?

Here's the configuration setting.

It doesnt work :S

Can't help you any further since I don't have one but your router setup looks totally wrong. Looks like you're still configuring a DSL connection.

The first picture of the Linksys looks OK, but remove the service name and leave it blank - there have been various issues in the past where having this non blank causes a problem.

The second picture on the Linksys is DSL settings - I suspect once the PPPoE connection comes up on the ethernet port, then these settings will become redundant.

The first pic of the Zyxel is too small - can't read it. Can you crop and upload again?

Here's the update on the Pic

The DSL option is actually grey out once the Bridging option on WGN120n is picked.

I'll try remove the service name to see if that helps.

Your zyxel set up is fine. Now just got to the linksys and set etherney wan to pppoe and enter your username and password. If the adsl wan is disabled it shouldnt let you put any of the vpi/vci settings in to it.

Yep, that looks pretty good. As chevrolux said, stick your user details in to the PPPoE settings, and you should be OK from there.

You may need to remove the text from the service description field - it has been an issue in certain circumstances in the past.

Thanks guys problem solved.

Turns out I need to leave the service name blank and also leave the MTU to Auto on my linksy.
