We are needing to massively reduce outgoings so are looking at cutting off internet and VOIP phone service, amongst other things for now. Does anyone know if it's possible to still keep our 2 existing phone numbers and have an outgoing message left on those to direct callers to cellphones. We could carry on paying the VOIP provider (XNet/WXC) if that's a viable possibility ?

If VoIP is with wxc you could pay the monthly fee ($11.50?), divert all calls to vm and leave a message there.

If you're happy to keep paying voip provider, I'm sure there are options. I think with our 2talk connection, when no devices are connected and someone rings it goes straight to voicemail and then I've got it setup to just email us the message.

Just remember if you do port to WxC or 2talk you must do it before you cancel your line, otherwise you don't have any way to get the number.

Just to clarify slightly we are currently with WXC so could just carry on that service with a voice message only if that's a goer.

So basically just swap to the cheapest plan that has voicemail and just setup the numbers to go straight to voice mail. Then to check your voicemail you'll need to borrow someone's internet or use mobile broadband to download the voice mail.

If you want to redirect calls to a mobile I'm pretty sure you'll be charged for every call which could be quite expensive.

Correct. Redirected calls are not free - the called number (the person receiving the call) pays for the redirection.
