ok so in my house i have a main computer and a laptop. the main computer (dsektop) is hookup to a wireless router but whenever i go on the laptop the desktops internet speed is so slow that it is barely useable.
BUTTT! when i use eather of my sisters 2 laptops on the wireless it dosent slow my desktop at all. only that one laptop does.
and ideas?

I think you should check the packet statistics on the wireless router. You might find that the "bad" laptop is infected with a trojan and part of a botnet.

umm ill i understood in that is trojan lol. i cant find the packet statistics on my router page.
how do i fix this?

Sorry, I don't know the brand of router, or what capabilities it has.:)

If your ISP has a bandwidth monitor, you might be able to use that, turn the laptop on, and see if it starts using a lot of data. If you can't see anything using the bandwidth on the laptop (such as windows update), that's pretty convincing proof.

Basically, you can't trust the laptop to tell you what it is doing. You need some impartial third party who is between the laptop and the internet to tell you what is going on. So, you'll have to dig up the user manual for the wireless router (google for it if you don't have it), or find some other way to track it down.

There are other possibilities, but a hacked laptop is the most likely.
