Hi all,
I have a really wierd problem with my ADSL that i can't get a straight answer from Ihug about.
I moved house a week ago, and had my broadband transferred to the new address. Set up my computers the same as the previous address (which had a good broadband connection, for NZ standards anyway ;)) and got the internet - no problems so far.
everything was going ok until i noticed that every time i picked up any phone in the house ADSL would lose sync. if it didn't or managed to regain sync, i would get speeds that fluctuated rapidly from 17kbps to 1500kbps.
I can also hear ADSL on the phones which i thought were supposed to be stopped by the filters
i thought my filters may have been damaged in the move so i replaced them, still the same issue.
I got a Central Filter installed on the main line into the house - STILL THE SAME PROBLEM!!
I thought maybe the filter was bung, so i got the guy back who replaced it, and tested it with a new cable bypassing all house wiring. same ADSL sync loss. at this point i am going insane!
I have changed my ADSL Router to another modem I had at home - still loses sync.
Called Ihug who referred it to telecom who have neglected to help me so far...
My question is - Does anyone know what is going on! I am losing my mind.
