cokemaster: One query I have myself, is VoIP traffic bound for VFX subject to the 64kbps throttle on cap when on the managed data option?

Yes it will be, but with some QOS / Policy that we run and if the Call runs on the standard codecs, then call quality may not be effected

kfella2000: One additional question I would raise as to what coffeebaron asked is what happens to throttling back if someone is paying for the 90 kbps enhanced service or would that be separate from the 64 kbps throttled back service
Woolly: A few Questions to Maverick re: Naked ADSL
My Dad's being waiting for about 6 years for prices to get reasonable for Broadband and phone (They're still a little on the high side, but not too bad).
He's currently spending about $60 for phone and Dialup.
1. Is naked ADSL available in Nelson, particularly in Stoke?
2. Can he keep his existing Phone Number?
3. What equipment Does he need for VFX and how much does it cost? (any recommendation?)
4. Is it worth putting the phone equiment on a UPS? (His current wireless handset isn't on backup power so they'd lose the phone with a power cut anyway)
5. I see VFX is currently waived for XNet broadband customers, how long will this last (approx)?
Many thanks Woolly
PS I'm with Xnet for broadband great service, It was a pleasant surprise after Xtra.
Woolly:
- XNet Stream Broadband 256K Down / 128K Up + 1Gb Traffic = $27.97 GST inclusive
