Hi,

I just got Xtra DSL installed with the Xtra supplied D-Link DSL-502t Gen II Modem. I would like to upgrade to the latest firmware that supports Half Bridge Mode but when I try to update it says wrong firmware.

The current Firmware loaded is: V3.00B01T01.TX.20070418

and the latest version for Gen II is: V3.02B01T01.NZ.20071119

However, it seems to be the loaded firmware says TX in it and the one from the D-Link website is says NZ.

It says to reset the modem to factory default settings and I did that by holding down the reset button on the Modem. Then when I try to update it says wrong file.

any help on what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.

I had a similar issue with a 502T (non GenII). It was a TX (Telecom supplied) version and I could not load the NZ firmware. I was able to get around this by loading the AU firmware; following that the NZ firmware would then load.

well I tried that to use the Australia firmware and it still says: incorrect file.

Looks like its a no go on updating the firmware on the DSL-502t from Xtra.
I pressed the reset button for more then 10 seconds as suggested.

I have tried it with Firefox with no firewall an anti Virus turned off. Should I use internet explorer to try the update?

any other suggestions?

finally succeeded by using the Australian exe update file.

I found this thread in another forum that suggest to upgrade with the exe file in "Corrupt Image Mode" as some people had success updating the firmware that way.

for anybody who runs into the same problem of upgrading the firmware on a Xtra supplied DSL-502t just follow the above instructions.

You have to run the Australian exe firmware first and then you can upgrade to the NZ version.

now to the next problem of getting Half-Bridge Mode to work. - so far no luck after the upgrade..

Sorry I couldn't reply sooner, but as you have discovered, that seems to be the way to do it. I did mine using the exe & corrupt image mode. As for half bridge, not sure but look for something called ZipB.
