I am still on the xtra go large plan. It is a poor quality service but I have always thought it is a shame I couldn't donate my bandwidth to someone so I could make having such a plan worthwhile.

Although it is not the fastest, I would still like to see it being used as much as possible.

Anyone know of any way to use it, especially during idle times

i am not really into think tanks and universities using it. Although I suppose the only way to use it otherwise is to host files for someone, and I don't really have the hdd space for that.

There is not much you could do to share your capability without infringing your Ts & Cs, and/or impacting your own bandwidth.

I haven't really read the fine print past 'reasonable use' and my own bandwidth is not really a problem as it ranges from poor to miserable now. I am hoping to increase the amount of data I use though as it has no data cap.

edit: Okay 'poor to miserable' may be an exaggeration. That may have been left over anger at telecoms poor marketing strategy for this plan.

You could always seed GNU GPL software, like Linux Distros in the off-peak hours. Not sure if this is against the TOS, but it's a good cause!

Although I think they are already amongst us. Who else could have invented home theatre pcs?

Uploading at the maximum line rate during off-peak can't be very detrimental (if fact it's better for the clientbase, as the more bandwidth that gets used in the off-peak hours the more incentive for them to increase their total capacity because there isn't so much excess compared to peak).
