Our tiny settlement finally has access to broadband. Telecom laid fibre optic cable around the district last year and tomorrow I get hooked up!
I have two questions:
1) I chose a package with Slingshot because I've been with them for a couple of years without problems.. I chose them because I have a good tolls package. Their sales dept told me that we'd no longer have to pay the Telecom line rental $45) any longer. Given that Slingshot are still using Telecom lines I worry about that statement. Any one have any inside information on this?
2) I chose thier Starter package which allows 2gigs of bandwidth per month because Slingshot told me that's all we'd need. My wife and I are writers and spend considerable time on the 'net... we do not, however, download movies or music. Will this be enough do you think?
Thanks,
cooldragon
PS: Just had a call from the Telecom technician working on our exchange and he confirms that we are now connected! All we need now is for the modem to turn up...
