Hi All,

Not sure if has been discussed, but can someone please recommend the best NZ provider and plan for Fortnite gamer.

P.S. our issue is that the young fella used to have 3+ kills each game, used to come 2nd in solo a number of times, but in the last week or so, every noob seem to eliminate him.

the game lags a lot. you only see frozen screen for third of a second and next minute you're dead. (same lag on XBOX and PC).

Contacted my current provider, they don't seem to be gamer focused.

Cheers.

As per your previous thread: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=82&TopicId=240809 give Orcon a chance first. Try again later today.

If you want some ISP recommendations then 2degrees or Voyager are at the very top of my list. Orcon however shouldn't be any issues so just have some patience with them as @Sounddude has stated your connection should be fixed in the morning, he didn't specifically say what time.

The Fornite  issue will because of the issue we found.

The IP address you have been assigned was part of a legacy customer who was buying a limited amount of international bandwidth. This is in the process of being removed.

Once done your Son will be back to killing fornite noobs like me :-(

Yes. It is all good now. Even I can now eliminate some noob occasionally.

The ping to Oceania sever is now 45. Is it normal?

Assuming that server us in Oz, which is almost certainly would be, that's right about as it should be.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Yes, depending where in NZ you are based.

its about 23ms from Auckland to Sydney.

Plus a little bit more for your VDSL line (say 5-10ms depending on your interleaving)

plus if you are not in Auckland, some more to haul your traffic up to Auckland.

Plus then some gaming overhead.

I'll close this now - discuss further on the original thread: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=82&topicid=240809

Good to see this is sorted!
