Hi,

I'm running on Vista Ultimate 64 Bit, and I want to use my woosh PC modem,

I cant seem to install the driver files for it.

Is it not possible?

The easiest way is to get the ethernet cable for it and connect to it via PPPoE with the woosh usename/password. Its how I've set up a number of them.

I posted here with the latest drivers off the latest Woosh CD that we received when we signed up for woosh. However I am not sure if Vista 64 Bit drivers, but Vista 32 bit drivers are there, so they may work ok on 64 bit. Otherwise PPPoE is the best option IMHO. Plus you should probably do a firmware uprade on the P1D as well.

Having stumbled over a machine with Vista the other day with a Woosh connection, I'll have to say that the drivers are still unreliable and refused to connect no matter what.

Thankfully the owner of the machine had a SOC2 ethernet cable and I was able to get the modem connected using PPPoE. However there is a nasty little trick.

If you are a new Woosh customer and have just got your SOC2 (red power LED) or P1D (green power LED) and happen to be a Vista user, then you might need to get the use of a Windows XP machine to flash the modem with your user account details. The flasher utility on the Woosh CD still doesn't work under Vista.

On the subject of modem upgrades, if you are able to connect via PPPoE but have missed a firmware upgrade, then the upgrade enforcement server should handle that. You can tell your modem is upgrading the firmware by looking at the LEDs, they should be scrolling from the power button to the red data transfer LEDs and then back to the power button.

Nice to see things STILL haven't changed in the world of Woosh Wireless.
