Hi everyone, I have just moved into a new house and only has a vdsl connection.(have been gigabit fibre for the last couple of years)
Anyway its located in what will be my daughters bedroom. I need to shift it.
I've traced the cables to the roof space and hoping itll just be a simple job of relocating the wires.

does it only work in the one room or in all the rooms. if its only in the one room, you need to follow the wiring back to find where it splits, likely to be a splitter/filter somewhere there. then run wires from the DSL side of the splitter to where you want to go.

This is the only vdsl port in the house.

I followed all the wires as far as I could and found that the grey wires in the photo went to the garage via 3 or 4 joins, so I removed that cable altogether.

The white cat6 heads out to the box on the side of the house which I can't get at.
Since removing the grey wire speed went up 5mbs to 30mbs download.

I need some help from the mrs when she gets here in a few days. But what's the best option to get the cable out into the garage?

Should I join it in the roof space or wire it in fully?

you can joint the cable with scotch lock connectors

The white cat6 cable.
I'll check those out. Bought a bundle from a seller in aussie, I'll check what's in it.

I have safely moved the modem into the roof space and all is working.

I have to ask about this, should I be getting those max dslam speeds?
Or is that just what current vdsl is capable of?

its what its capable of, attainable what what you should be looking at.

i would not be leaving the modem in the roof if its hot up there, will degrade due to the heat
