Hi-

Im about to rent an apartment and I wanted to make sure it received good ADSL before I signed the lease. I asked one of the ISPs how good the line was, and this is the information they sent back:

Normal 0

Serving LWC Name: CPC – MDF

HDB3 Present in Binder: No

Line Attenuation: 16 – 16 dB

Download Rate Range 12.2 – 12.2 Mb/s

Upload Rate Range 1.0 – 1.0 Mb/s

Upload > 300 kb/s: No

Urbanisation Level: Urban

Result Positive For: BUBA FS/FS, EUBA 40, EUBA 90, Basic E, EUE

Result Negative For: (nothing)

Result Inconclusive For: (nothing)

DSL available at LWC: Yes

Access Types: Copper

Messages: ADSL2+; Multipoint terminal detected. Min and Max attenuation may differ

Can anyone help translate that for me? Fast? Slow? Is ADSL 2 available?Other issues? The location is Oriental Bay in Wellington City.

The plan I plan to get is FS/FS, anyway to guestimate what sort of speeds I can expect?

Thanks for any help.

12.2 Mb/s is your line speed.

ADSL 1 gets a max of around 8.5, in perfect circumstances, so 12.2 is good.

That's ADSL2+ of course.

You will not get above 4-5 to international sites anyway, on a good day, so don't worry, the speed is fine.
