Hi there ,

I am facing a frequent disconnection and i don't understand why . It happens quite frequently and the connection just went off and on again . It just happened recently . My desktop and laptop are disconnected together . I hope someone could help me figure our the problem . My router is still quite new and i haven't face any problem when i first started using it until about few months later .

Perhaps you could include your mode of router?

And if both your computers cut out at same time then it is probably your router. Well thats my guess. I have a RTA1335 and it overheats. I think it might be dodgey. Sometimes mine cuts out 2. Maybe you have a dodgey router? Perhaps you could take it back to the shop and say that you think its defective and that routers normally last alot longer than this. And when purchasing it you had expected it to last as long as an average router does.

Is the ADSL light dropping out? If so, check out this guide and perform an isolation test.
During the isolation, record how often in drops. Try another router in it's place if you have one spare.

Then, if it's still dropping whilst isolated you'll need to log a fault with your ISP.
