For months, I have been experiencing several crashes daily with my DSL-502T (as previously supplied by Telecom). Having heard clicking noises from my speakers, I decided to try clip-on ferrite cores on the DC power lead. I fitted two as close as I could to the power input, with the cable looped such that it enters the core, passes around and through again.
Since then, no more crashes although the clicks are still there and seem to be caused by thermostats.

The D-Link DSL-502T seems to have a number of problems. I recently borrowed one and found the DNS relay was returning 1.0.0.0 when I tried to ping different sites (or use firefox or wget). Seems to be a common problem where the application tries to use IPV6 but the DNS relay can't deal with it and returns 1.0.0.0

The answer was to go to the DSL-502T DHCP Settings, set the DNS mode to manual and manually add the correct Primary DNS and Secondary DNS IP addresses for your ISP.
