Hi guys

My modem shows me
                                          Downstream                Upstream
Data rate(Kbps)              15464Kb                       1209Kb
Noise Margin                       12                                 12
Output power(dBm)       125                                187
Attenuation(dB)                23                                   6

however i can only get 5mbps downstream from speedtest. what should i do to max my speed? thanks!~

How are you testing that? Wired or wireless connection?

Slingshot, i used the speedtest provided by slingshot on their website. tested around 11pm. by i have tried downloading a few different stuff in day time, and never get faster than 500Mbps....

yes, i have noticed that. And i just changed from exchange to my roadsite cabinate. thats why i can get 15Mbps showing on my moden page. however in the reality, i still cant get the full speed download, 400Kbps is the max i can see.

If you're on the Slingshot unlimited plan, it's likely that the throughput you get will vary by time of day and there's probably not much you can so about it. Your ADSL connect speed looks very good.

It's important to note that ADSL connect speed and the speed you observe with speedtests etc only have a one way relationship.

If you have a bad ADSL connect speed (reported by your router), you'll never achieve better than that in Internet throughput

If you have a good ADSL connect speed, that doesn't necessarily mean you will get the same (or even nearly the same) speed with your speedtest websites.

Different ISPs experience different levels of congestion during busy hours (typically 8-11pm for most residential ISPs). There's often a tradeoff between peak time speed and cost (or monthly GB allowance).

Only you can decide which are the most important factors out of Price, speed and monthly cap.. (And reliability and support of course)

Basically I doubt there's much you can do to make things better short of switching ISPs.

1000 kBps = 1MBps = 8Mbps = 8000 kbps
