I notice a new comms tower of some kind has gone up at Mystery Creek this week.

Does anyone know what it is for?

I'll take a picture of it next time I go past.

It's most likely one of the RBI towers being built by Vodafone:

Not related to the Fieldays RBI site to improve coverage in general,

John

Excellent.

We dont get ADSL here for some bizarre reason (10 mins from hamilton, 2 minutes from Hamilton Intl Airport, 10 mins from Cambridge, 1 min from a school) and XT coverage is poor for mobile broadband.

We are also not in line of sight of any of the wireless towers.

Hopefully this might give us some better options.

From what i've seen there, Vodafone almost always brings in a COW during large events. It seems to get hammered quite a lot during Parachute as well.
Theres a telecom tower on site which broadcasts CDMA, 850mhz XT and 2100mhz XT (as well as a DSLAM too, on an unrelated note). The vodafone one is a decent distance away so i'm not surprised if they are building one.
