Off topic seems as good a place as any for this. I was wanting to get a BenQ 2420T monitor, but couldnt find any NZ retailers that sell it. The same goes for other tech products i've wanted. Where do you get tech? Is there a good international store somewhere?

Most of the places I find online ship to NZ but dont have what I want, or are US exclusive. Anyone know of some good retailers?

Be aware that some equipment has a different model number for the NZ/Au release, so your "BenQ 2420T" maybe known to retailers as a "BenQ 112233A" over here.

Also just ask your retailer.... they can usually get more than what they have in their shop.

For smaller items I always look on Amazon. I recently got an ipod docking station and infrared thermometer both for close to half what local retailers were charging. I've also been very tempted recently by SSDs and tablet computers for significantly less than local retailers are trying to charge, even after factoring in shipping and GST charges (for items over $400)

I support local companies where I can, but just can't stomach paying close to double on some of these items.

For non-mission-critical (that sounds more dramatic than it is, I mean something that I don't care if it breaks a bit) my source is now tinydeal.com

Ordered a couple of SD cards last Friday, they were delivered this morning. One 8GB SanDisk and one 4GB Kingston. No telling for 100% sure if they're genuine I guess but ran H2WTest on both and they report the correct capacity, error-free and at speeds at or beyond their Class rating.

Used to be an advocate for dealextreme.com but got fed up with their longer and longer shipping times.

For 'proper' PC bits I'm still inclined to shop locally. I have successfully used Ascent in the past but I'm sure there are many more reputable resellers around.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
