Everyone in the world should read this or this or other stuff like it...

I assume the following:

You have Windows XP
You have 256MB RAM

  • Upgrade your computers RAM to 512MB (buy a 256MB stick of desktop ram, probably "DDR333" or higher (but not DDR2) (someone will correct me if im wrong about the 1100's RAM)
  • Go into START > CONTROL PANEL > ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and remove all software you have installed yourself that you dont use anymore, or dont want.
  • Click START > ALL PROGRAMS > STARTUP and delete just about everything in there except things like your printers status software
