Hi there,
I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone had a opinion on the Nvidia 7600GT? My current card which I'm not going to mention is really only  for media centre PC's. So cost Vs performance I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on it? Also  the 7900GT even though a better card, what does anyone think of that cost vs performace?

Howdy and welcome!

I can't really speak to the 7600GT as I'm still stuck on a 6600GT, but Tom's Hardware usually have some decent cost vs performance comparisons on their site: http://www.tomshardware.com/find_by_topic/graphics_cards.html.  Just look for the subjects like "Best Gaming Video Cards for the Money".

One thing I did read on a older article there said the 7900GS has similar performance to the 7900GT but at lower cost.  Someone else here may have a better opinion of course.

Thanks for that,  GFx hardware is always a contentious issue, because of the rate of improvement. I guess it will depend on the level of graphic intensity, which at the moment isn't too huge. Having a look now at tom's hardware. cheers

The 7900GT has passed end of life. There may be some retailers who still have some in stock but the suppliers are all out.

This applies to all 7Series GT's. There are quite a few GS's available especially the 7900GS which is an excellent card. For its price (sub $300 for an ASUS) it offers excellent performance.
