Hi all

I'm in the process of looking to build a desktop pc after spending too many years on laptops.

I want to ensure that it is capable of 3 screens minimum, 2 x 21inch desktop screens, and a tv probably by hdmi. If possible I would like it to be capable of handline 3 desktop screens + a tv.

Which motherboard should I go for?

I'm looking at building a machine with parts from Tastech, and I have been recommended I go with a Gigabyte 1150 socket.

I won't be using this machine for gaming.

Just buy a $100-200 graphics card and you should be covered. A lot of those cards now have three interfaces for monitors. Do yourself a favour and get displayfusion too.

Yup, I picked up an old 5770 on TM a while back for just this purpose.
1 screen runs from inboard DVI and other 2 from the graphics card, all in full hd 1080p :D

HD5770 is a SOLID card.
Make sure to get the 1GB HIS version if possible.

If you're not going to be doing anything particularly intensive, it's possible to even throw in a cheap ($25-50) video card and use your integrated GPU alongside it. That will save you money on both video card and motherboard. I'm currently using a Radeon R9 290 in my desktop while the integrated HD 4600 (use it for Quick Sync) pushes stuff for my secondary monitor.
