The Download Manager says the status of my download is "finished". When I hit launch another window comes up titled WinAip Self-Extractor. I hit the unzip box and it unziped 247 files but the dialogue box stays. when I close it out up comes the Downlad Manager box again and I go in a circle. Help. What next?

I certainly understand the confusion, I did warn that I am not computer literate. But, I do have a license for office pro plus 2007. I did not elect to get the media kit since I thought it would be quicker to download from microsoft eOpen, however, for me that is not the case. The problem is, I had to replace my laptop and did not have software put on it since I purchased the license for office pro. When I contacted microsoft about this they gave me an 800 # to call if I had problems, but, the office closed for the weekend. HOpe that clarifies the situation

You can get a retail verzion of MS Office from torrents and use your key to register it. In case if the official downloader does not work on your system for some reason :)

Since when it became not legal downloading software from the network and using your own purchased keys in it? What laws have been breached? From your words if I download a copy of Windows from MSDN and then use my own purchased key to register it. it is not legal? dude what is the 'Microsoft Evangelist' stands for in your info :)

The MSDN license is clear: it allows you to download the software and use it for testing and development - not production. Also only MSDN keys can be used with that.

The license for Office 2007 retail is different and it says on the CD that the material and contents of the disc are copyright protected - hence duplication for anything but backup is not a legal use of the software.

As for "Microsoft Evangelist", I am afraid that is not an official Microsoft assigned title (AFAIK, correct me chaks if I am wrong), and even if a person is an "evangelist" it doesn't mean agreeing with piracy.

And because this topic is going down to the piracy route I am locking this discussion.

For the OP, it's Monday now, the offices should be open, just call the 0800 number and order new discs.
