Hi,

I backed up the my docs folder on to my usb drive and accidentally deleted it and I really need the docs and photos back.
File recovery is not new but with so much choice I really want to hear from people who have experienced great success from particular recovery software/tools.

thank you,
Steve.

Just ran a recovery on my USB stick for some video files I accidentally bumped off, used Recuva (www.ccleaner.com...) - recovered everything with no corruption :)

PC Inspector File Recovery, which is free.

Failing that, the best I've found is Stellar Phoenix, but that isn't free.

Not free, but I've had great sucess with Runtime Software's GetDataBack product. Recovered files from a dead SD card that a commercial organisation said were gone.
