I'm a total technophobe who's been shoved into the world of self-employment and I'm struggling to get my laptop up to speed for working at home. (New computer is on the list of things to buy once my first contract is done!)
Today's problem is updating Adobe Acrobat. It installs from the website to about 97.8% then I get a message about encoutering an invalid digital signature and the install stops. I'm trying the download from the adobe.com website, in the blind hope that this is the legit place to get it!
I'm using a Toshiba laptop running Windows XP. I've used the 'uninstall' thing on the control panel to get rid of my previous version of Adobe (v5). I've managed to install Adobe Flash Player and something called the Adobe Download Manager, but Acrobat just doesn't get through the installation process.
I tried temporarily turning off my Norton protection while trying to install but that didn't help at all. I'm assuming it's not a capacity problem, I have enough space for the software.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
