Hi
I'm new here, my husband suggested posting in here for help with this virus.
I run Windows 7 Home on my computer, and Windows Defender Alert popped up with this message:
Detected Items:TrojanDownloader:Win32/Unruy.H
Alert Level: Severe
I clicked the "Clean System" button, and got the following message:
Requested actions have been applied successfully.
But Windows Defender Alert kept popping up with the same message, my computer then reset itself and when it restarted it couldn't open Windows.
I've googled the virus, but am nervous about downloading a program.
This is my first virus and I have no idea how to fix it.
If anyone has dealt with this virus before, could you please let me know how you got rid of it and what program you used?

Were you running any antivirus? Windows Defender is not an antivirus.

Go to http://free.antivirus.com, click on HouseCall and run the one appropriate for your system. See what it says.

Once it's clean I recommend you go to www.microsoft.com/security and install Microsoft Security Essentials. Only do this if you are not running another antivirus already. If you are, you should uninstall the existing one before installing this. You should not have more than one antivirus installed at the same time.

House Call didn't find the offender.

MSE causes BSOD.

TDSSKiller did find a root kit. grrrr.

Lesson - don't download a downloader to grab flash videos off craft web sites.
